Christmas Day ~ George Christmas '09

After opening gifts from Santa on Christmas morning, we headed out to celebrate Christmas with Ashley's family at Momma G & Papa's house! We ate a delicious meal of ham/brisket, veggie dishes, desserts, etc!
A little later in the afternoon we went on a hayride and sang Christmas carols! Yes, it was 30* and yes we were freezing! Papa G drove a million miles an hour over snow and pot holes, all the while sitting in his warm truck drinking his hot coffee. HA! We had so much fun and laughed the entire time! :)

Ready to bake!

Shae watching with Papa G

Shae

My sweet girls, excited to open MORE presents :)

We got Kylie some cute wall canvas' to hang in her room to match her new bedding!

Cannon LOVED his remote control tarantula we got him!

I didn't get a picture of Macie, but we got her 2 cute wall plaques to hang in her new room too!
Shae excited to get some new stamps!

Uno Moo!

Tammy & Greg got them a street sign just for their street out in the country!
That night, we watched the movie "Facing The Giants." It was a good movie with a wonderful message! Kaelyn and Shae fell asleep during the movie, they were worn out!
The next morning, Papa G & Momma G made us a delicious breakfast of fried eggs, bacon and biscuits! We spent the morning relaxing and moving slow.
They set up the new street sign, it looks great!

Ready for the day!

The older kids wasted no time to get outside and ride the go-kart!!

Uncle Ryan took Cannon & Kylie around the property

They had SO much fun riding!

Kaelyn's turn, dressed up & ready to ride!

She was so excited to ride with Daddy!

They had a lot of land to cover!!

It was wet/muddy from all of the snow so everyone was filthy!
Didn't seem to bother Kaelyn, she had a blast! :)

Covered in mud & still smiling...that's my girl!

All cleaned up and playing with Papa G's glasses

Shae loves her Momma G and spent most of the 2 days by her side

Kylie and Shae hanging out

After he got cleaned up, Daddy played some country songs on his guitar!
He put on quite the show & everyone had fun singing along.

Uncle Charles is a kid-magnet to say the least. All of the kids absolutely love him b/c he's a big kid himself and loves to play games with them! Here they are all attacking him with pillows & animals! Poor Charles! ha!
After the guitar show, Papa G brought back some fried chicken for lunch. It was delicious and perfect for a cold, winter day!

Shae loving on my parents dog, Haley. This is a HUGE step for my dog-fearing girls!
Way to go, Shae!

Kaelyn taking it a little slower :)

Papa G & Kaelyn

We had planned on all going to see a movie, but figured the crowds would be too bad. We let the boys sneak off to go see the new movie "Sherlock Holmes" and we stayed at the house and had lots of fun. They said it was packed so we were glad we did :)
We made Snowmen crafts out of marshmallows! The kids loved making them and eating them too!

Later that evening, we bathed the girls and got them in their pj's so we could put them straight to bed when we got home. We were about 5 minutes down the road, and they were already fast asleep!!

What a wonderful Christmas holiday spent with both of our families! We are truly blessed to be surrounded by such amazing people! :)

Christmas Eve ~ Our family Christmas '09

On Christmas Eve, I made cinnamon rolls for breakfast and we spent the morning playing with new toys the girls had received the night before.

Daddy set up their new doll house from Mimi & Papi and they have had SO much fun playing with it and letting their imaginations unfold!

Around 10 am it started to snow and it was beautiful!!
We went out to a late lunch at Genghis Grill and it was delicious! It was the first time I had eaten there and I was impressed, can't wait to go again! You pick out the meats, veggies, sauces, spices that you like and they cook it for you over the grill with rice/noodles of your choice. You will not leave there hungry, I promise you that :)

It was so fun to venture out in the snow! The girls loved getting snowed on and having it in their hair. HA!

We came home for awhile and relaxed and then headed to the Christmas Eve service at our church at 4:30pm. By this time, the snow was really coming down...

The girls sat with us in the service and loved all of the songs we sang.

By the time the service ended, the car was completely snowed/iced over! It was quite the journey getting home on the snow covered roads but we made it home safely. :)

We had a small dinner (still full from lunch) and then we decorated our cookies for Santa!

The girls loved opening each of their gifts. They got some new "Mega Blocks" and had fun building castles and houses for their princesses. Shae is Miss Independent when it comes to building things - she made her dolls their own rooms.

They set out their cookies for Santa on the fireplace and a glass of milk!

The girls went right to sleep. We told them that Santa wouldn't come unless they did! ;)
The next morning, the girls were so excited to see that Santa had eaten all of their cookies & drank all of the milk! He must have been hungry!

Later that morning, we got baths & all ready for our Christmas celebration at Momma G and Papa G's house! More pictures to come!
