So much to be thankful for...

Thanksgiving 2006

We truly have so much to be thankful for this year! We have been blessed beyond measure with two precious little girls & cannot even begin to imagine our lives without them. We have been given a solid foundation in our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ and give all credit to Him for everything we have. We are so thankful for our families who provide love & support on a daily basis. I pray that we will always remember to have thanksgiving in our hearts!!

How 'bout them Aggies??

How 'bout them Aggies?? For the first time in 6 years, the fightin' Texas Aggies defeated t.u. yesterday by a score of 12 to 7. WHOOP!! Kaelyn & Shae sported their Aggie attire & cheered those Aggies on to a big victory! Let's just say that Daddy will be on cloud 9 for at least a year! GO AGGIES!!

4 Months Old!

The girls are now 4 months old & growing like little weeds! Yesterday, we took them to the Pediatrician for their 4-month check-up. Kaelyn now weighs 13 lbs, 6 oz. and is 24 1/4 inches long. Shae is up to 12 lbs, 12.2 oz. and is 23 1/4 inches long. It's so hard to believe they were both once just a little over 5 lbs! Praise God for a heathy report for both girls!
Both girls are really enjoying their tummy time more & more. Both have rolled over from their tummy to their back & Kaelyn has now figured out how to roll from her back to her tummy! She loves it! Shae would rather just lay on her back, no interest in rolling over to her tummy just yet. Can't wait to see what the girls discover next!

Baby Dedication Sunday

This past Sunday, Shae & Kaelyn participated in the Baby Dedication at Prestonwood Baptist Church. A baby dedication is made up of several important components. First is the recognition that the child we hold is not ours, but God's. Babies are not accidents, mistakes, or even the outcome of our choices. The babies we hold today are true miracles of God's creative power. These lives, with all of its uniqueness and potential, are gifts that God has given us. Every child is a part of God's plan and purpose. A baby dedication is not just about the baby, it is, in reality, a parent/child dedication. God has given us a gift! But this gift is also a responsibility, a challenge, encouraging our dependence upon Him day by day. This was a time to recognize and embrace our spiritual responsibility that God has given us for our two precious baby girls.
What great meaning behind this dedication ceremony! While it was definitely a busy and hectic day, we all survived and enjoyed a wonderful day full of celebration and family fellowship!
"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6
Jesus said, " Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14

Road Trip!

The girls survived their first road trip! Last weekend, we dropped Daddy off in College Station to go to the Aggie game with Uncle Kyle. We met Mama G there & she rode back with us to Spring. The girls did great & slept the whole way from Dallas to College Station and then after eating their dinner, slept from College Station to Spring. We kept them on their schedule as much as possible the entire weekend & they slept all night both nights & took great naps. Mama G & Papa G had everything set up just perfect for our stay. They even had two bumbo seats so Kaelyn & Shae could both sit in them at the same time--they loved them! We went to one of Mommy's favorite Mexican food restaurants & out to The Woodlands Market Street to walk around & get coffee. We had so much fun!! It was a nice little get away!

3 Months Old!

Wow, the girls are 3 months old already! Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday we were bringing them home from the hospital and getting no sleep at night! ha! The girls are growing & changing on a daily basis. Both girls have rolled over for the first time from their tummy to their back. They are starting to enjoy their tummy-time more and more and are wanting to stay there for longer periods of time. The girls are sleeping between 10 and 11 hours at night which has been wonderful for Mommy & Daddy. We usually feed them around 8:45-9 p.m. and they will sleep until 7:30-7:45 a.m. Praise God! Now if we can just move that bedtime up a little earlier, we'll be set!
Some things that the girls love:
  • The girls love sitting in their bumbo seats (in pictures). They love to watch their Baby Einstein movies in them, or watch Daddy vaccuum or watch Daddy work while sitting on the kitchen table.
  • They love going for walks in the neighborhood, especially since the weather has been so nice!
  • They love it when Mommy turns on their crib mobile before taking a nap.
  • They love going for drives during the day w/ Mommy to get her iced tea.
  • They love seeing their Daddy when he gets home from work in the evenings.
  • They love seeing Mommy first thing in the morning when she gets them out of their cribs.

First Day At Church!

We took the girls to church for the first time last Sunday, so of course we had to dress them up in their cute dresses! They did wonderful in the nursery; I think it was harder for their Mommy to leave them because they didn't seem to mind one bit. At least they have eachother!

Photo Shoot!

We finally got the girls to sit still long enough to snap a few new photos of them together! They are so cute now because they are smiling and cooing all the time! It's so fun to see their reactions and facial expressions when Mommy & Daddy talk to them! They are sleeping 6-7 hours at night now, which has been great! Shae is quite the little stinker and apparently does not like to be swaddled at night. She will wiggle her way completely out of her swaddle blanket and scoot her way to the top corner of her crib and cuddle up next to the bumper. Kaelyn, on the other hand, will wake up in the exact same position that we laid her down in. They are so cute in the mornings --they will talk to themselves and stare at their crib mobiles until Mommy comes to get them for breakfast.

2 Months Old!

The girls are now 2 months old and are growing so fast! They had their 2-month appointment, Kaelyn is now up to 10 lbs, 1 oz. and Shae weighs 9 lbs, 4 oz. They are getting so big! They have both started to smile when Mommy & Daddy talk to them and it is so rewarding to see those precious gummy smiles! They both did very well getting their 2-month shots. Daddy had to hold each one down while the nurse gave them their shots and Mommy was waiting to comfort them and give them some Tylenol to ease the pain. By the time we left the doctor's office, they had settled down because they had worn themselves out!

The Arrington Twins have arrived!

Kaelyn Grace and Shae Alexis Arrington arrived via scheduled c-section on June 28, 2006. Kaelyn was born at 11:29 a.m. weighing 5 lbs, 15.6 oz. and Shae was born at 11:31 a.m. weighing in at 5 lbs, 8.7 oz. They were born 4 weeks early but had no complications whatsoever and went home from the hospital with Mom and Dad 4 days later.
