This past Sunday, Shae & Kaelyn participated in the Baby Dedication at Prestonwood Baptist Church. A baby dedication is made up of several important components. First is the recognition that the child we hold is not ours, but God's. Babies are not accidents, mistakes, or even the outcome of our choices. The babies we hold today are true miracles of God's creative power. These lives, with all of its uniqueness and potential, are gifts that God has given us. Every child is a part of God's plan and purpose. A baby dedication is not just about the baby, it is, in reality, a parent/child dedication. God has given us a gift! But this gift is also a responsibility, a challenge, encouraging our dependence upon Him day by day. This was a time to recognize and embrace our spiritual responsibility that God has given us for our two precious baby girls.
What great meaning behind this dedication ceremony! While it was definitely a busy and hectic day, we all survived and enjoyed a wonderful day full of celebration and family fellowship!
