This past Thursday, we left for our Florida vacation to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary! We went with our good friends, The Schmidts, who were also celebrating 5 years. We had a fabulous time in Hollywood/Ft. Lauderdale and enjoyed relaxing on the beach, getting massages, nights out on the town & of course sleeping in!!
Of course we had to get a convertible to drive around in!
We arrived at our hotel on Thursday around 1:30pm and were starving! We walked along the beach boardwalk and ate a great cheeseburger at Nick's Burgers!
We got settled into our hotel and headed down to the beach for a few hours. That evening, we headed out to dinner at The Hard Rock Cafe.
We stopped to take a few pictures at the Hard Rock Hotel, it was so nice!
They had this really nice area with tons of shops & restaurants that overlooked the water.

After dinner, we walked around and found this great Dueling Piano Lounge! These guys were so entertaining & it was a great way to spend the evening!
Every morning, we slept in until about 9am and were on the beach by 10am!
Hollywood Beach, FL
Friday night, we headed out to dinner on Las Olas Boulevard. It was in downtown Ft. Lauderdale and it had a lot of shops, restaurants, ice cream/coffee shops.
We ate dinner at Mango's and had a delicious steak, "smashed" potatoes, and salad! It was delicious! This is after dinner with Las Olas Boulevard behind us.
Next we headed to Kilwin's Ice Cream Parlor for desserts! Oh my goodness, there were so many goodies to choose from! Beau got fudge, Mel got a carmel apple, Ryan got a carmel covered rice krispy treat and I had a peanut butter/chocolate covered rice krispy treat! DELICIOUS!!

Saturday morning was spent at the beach, of course!
Ryan & Beau found a friend who had a frisbee & had a great time!
On Saturday, we all got massages & they were wonderful!
That evening, we drove into Miami to eat dinner at Joe's Stone Crab, a restaurant that has been around for 96 years!
On Sunday, we spent the day at the beach. That evening, we went to walk on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale and ended up back at Mango's for dessert & live music - this time it was a jazz/blues band! It was a great way to spend our last evening in Florida!
On Monday, we woke up early to head to the airport. It was time to say our goodbyes to Florida! What a fabulous time away & we truly enjoyed our time together! It was so great to see these sweet girls though!!!

Long time, no see! I hope you don't mind but I linked to your blog from Christen Tomcheck's blog and have been a frequent reader :) (If you track your readers, I am the one from London. Yes, we recently moved, yet again!)
I am so glad to see yall are doing so well. The last time we saw eachother was at the baby shower so I haven't had the chance to meet the girls yet. They are just adorable and you have a beautiful family.
I will have to let you know the next time we are in town so we can meet up. Congratulations on five years!
